Texas City - 11 Waders and 2 Divers on 102809

Took pictures in a little body of water that parallels the dikes in Texas City. There were a Great White Egret, a Snowy Egret, a Tri-colored Heron, 8 White Ibeses all complete for food in the same trough of water accompanied by a couple of divers perched on a rail.

Pelicans and Pals Along Bay St. June 19&20 2009

Spent two days in the parks along Bay Street in Texas City. First day there were large numbers of Brown Pelican and a few pals. The second day all I saw were gulls and terns.

Martins of Sundance Park Tx City Jn 19&20, 2009

Martins were feeding their young at Sundance Park in Texas City, TX. The little buggers were really stretching out to meet mom. One stretched a little too far, but a pond down below broke his fall. Seems to be no end to the supple of large bugs in the area and these little guys have mouths larger than mom's head.

Stopped by Park on way back from dikes at Texas City. Places Judy had been a couple of weeks before on Red Hatter trip. Mainly interested in behavior of Skimmers. All shots hand held and in RAW.
