SunriseSunset > AubreyC  > Other > Sunrise on Bolivar Peninsula on 100309
Ken Coleman and I met the Kingwood Photo Club this morning on the beach where the highway through High Island runs into Hwy. 87 that runs along the Bolivar Peninsula. The first shot was a single RAW shot, while the next two were using HDRI techniques.

AubreyC > A single Raw file was inputted into Photomatix Pro and was developed into a single pseudo HDRI 32bit Open.EXR file, tone mapped for JPEG, and cropped from the original 2 x 3 format.
AubreyC > Single Raw shot. Processed in Sony Data Converter using the Level 2 HDR mode. Local contrast enhanced.

AubreyC > This was a RAW file processed in Sony's RAW Data Converter. It was adjusted in the converter to the equivalent of Sony's in-camera HDRI software's Level 2 for JPEG saves, but set my hand for the RAW file in the data converter software for the equivalent to the in-camera effect. I also allowed a lower luminance for a more dramatic effect..
AubreyC > I took as 9 sequenced or bracketed as nine intervals of 2/3 stops balanced around what the matrix exposure mode said was the correct exposure. It was shot on manual exposure. The bracketed shots were processed in Photomatix Pro. Camera was tripod mounted, but didn't use remote shutter release. The tone mapping on this shot was automatically done within the Photomatix Pro software.
AubreyC > The same 9 sequenced or bracketed as nine intervals of 2/3 stops balanced around what the matrix exposure mode said was the correct exposure as the previous shot, #2. It was shot on manual exposure. The bracketed shots were processed in Photomatix Pro. Camera was tripod mounted, but didn't use remote shutter release. The tone mapping on this shot was done BY HAND within the Photomatix Pro software. To increase the dranamic effect I adjusted for a lower luminance and higher local contrast. It was processed from the saved 32 bit Open.EXR file that was saved by Photomatix Pro.
